A founding partner of Carrot Capital, and life-long vegetarian-turned-vegan and animal lover, Alvir brings a wealth of entrepreneurial energy to our portfolio companies. In addition to investment activities, Alvir is an executive at Samba TV, where currently serves as SVP of Operations, after founding the company in 2008. He was an early employee of BitTorrent Inc., where he handled commercial relationships with numerous film, TV and music publishers. Alvir began his career as a professional musician and drops a killer bass line on demand.

Ashwin Navin

A seasoned entrepreneur, investor and operator in the technology and media industry, Ashwin is eager to bring his experience to his lifelong passion for plant-based product development. In addition to being a founding partner in Carrot Capital, Ashwin is the CEO of Samba TV, and formerly the co-founder and COO of BitTorrent Inc. He has held positions at Yahoo! in Corporate Development, and previously Goldman Sachs, which acquired the first start-up that he worked at - Epoch Partners. Ashwin is a sucker for a tofu-salad sandwich.

Caroline Love

Partner

Caroline has been a force behind some of the top companies in the plant-based revolution. She is the COO of Climax Foods, a company using data science to end animal agriculture. Caroline is also an Associate Producer and on the Board of Directors for The Game Changers, a film on Netflix produced by James Cameron about athletes fueling their victories through plant-based eating.

Caroline is passionate about building diversity and inclusion in the Future of Food space. She serves on the Leadership Council of Woman Funders in Animal Rights, and collaborated to establish GEAR: Gender Equity in Animal Rights, to ensure women and people of color hold leadership positions in this growing movement.

Prior to starting her plant-based food consultancy, Caroline was the VP of Operations at Hampton Creek (JUST) and led partnerships with the largest food companies in the world.

Caroline has been vegan for 22 years, regularly speaks at industry events, and she brings a wealth of execution experience and strategic relationships to our portfolio companies.

Marvin Ammori

Partner

Marvin Ammori is a mission-driven investor and (sometimes bad) vegan. He has invested in startups in debt-relief, drug discovery, and healthcare-delivery drones alongside or preceding Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, and other top investors. An experienced general counsel and startup executive, he spent the early part of his career as the nation’s leading advocate for freedom-of-speech online and for net neutrality. He graduated from Harvard Law School, continues to serve on the boards of four nonprofits, and was an advisor to HBO’s Silicon Valley.
